Party Girl — admin @ 7:12 pm

I read this on a forum I peruse and couldn’t agree more:

“Wow. I’ve never seen her before, but I’d definitely like to play with her…
hair.”

My first fall purchase is a tight red dress. Obviously. I don’t even want to know anything about this girl except for this photo. Anything else would just taint the fantasy, as is always with rich party girls.

Would You Do Me Dot Com

As an homage to my bff Dee’s creepy ex-boyfriend, here we are.

Yes, that is a Project Runway poster my lover stole off the TTC for me.

Mad Men

Style Icons — admin @ 10:44 pm

I am obsessed with the best TV show on right now, Mad Men, moreover I am completely infatuated with Joan Holloway. Joan has a heaving bosom, red hair, fucks a lot and says things like, “You’re the new girl and you’re not much, so you better enjoy it [the attention] while it lasts.”

I want to get a torpedo cone bra so I can be just like her, even for a little while. You do too, you know it.

Eileen Shields for Zero + Maria Cornejo on sale for $145 from $485 from Shop Bop, the Met Art of clothing shops. Despite the $50 shipping and the $48 UPS Customs charges I will have these in my hands tomorrow. These badboys are all the Bond girls and Twiggy in one.

Wardrobe

One of these days I’m going to stop wearing boots and wear out my closet that’s yelling to be let out, but for now it’s winter in Toronto.
My daily wear:
It’s all about the horseshoe tights I scored at H&M that match my burgundy leather boots. The necklace is some heavy stone, that was thrifted.

The red lipstick lust continued, and as of today I am sporting it to work, heavily blotted obviously, but I’m trying a new look. Heavy top extended black liner and red lips.

Red Lipstick

Beauty — Tags: — admin @ 7:46 pm

A few months ago I stumbled into Sephora, ok, ran into Sephora for a dose of beauty and face painting play. Usually I do my whole face, because when you have the world’s largest makeup palette in front of you, would you decline? As I was perusing the shelves, a red lipstick struck me at the Bourjouis counter, and I tried in on for jokes. Some people came up to me, in awe, saying I must buy it, and then some others and then finally a bunch of the Sephora staff also insisted that it looks amazing and well, I cannot say no! And after a while of wandering around the store, checking out my lush red lips from every angle at various mirrors, I got used to it. I loved it. I loved having bright red lips, and I didn’t look like a doll. Perhaps it was because it was the most perfect vibrant red, that also stayed on during dinner, lots of wine drinking and partying up a storm at 751 after, and only towards the end of the night did I have to reapply!

Although the photo doesn’t convey it’s true brightness, here I am so happy with my red lips, wooing people left and right.

In 1800s, Queen Victoria publicly declared makeup impolite. It was viewed as vulgar and something that was worn by actors and prostitutes, almost for a whole century! So prove the oppressive monarchy wrong again, and please go out and buy this right now! Bourjois Rouge Lovely Lipstick in 15 Rouge Best.

Seems like the sexy people in Stockholm also know what’s up.

Online Shopping

— admin @ 7:07 pm

I am almost an exclusive online shopper. To me, the thrill of the find comes from between webpage links rather than stores. I do still enjoy walking around and perusing shops for interesting and unique pieces, but lugging home purchases, or having to divert crowds doesn’t leave me as satisfied as ‘a gift in the post’ that an online purchase becomes. Because of the temporal difference between payment and acquisition, online shopping can be a sneaky bugger into convincing you that it’s just a gift. And who doesn’t love gifts in the post?

Shopping online does however leave out an important step in the process of purchasing - the tactile nature of items. Over the web, I can’t do much past zoom into a photo, if that, let alone really get a sense of how something would fit on me, or fit among my furniture. I cannot easily return or exchange it. Regardless, the internet is a never-ending vintage strip on some unknown street in a small town, or the largest H&M you ever wanted. Search-strings can lead me to items, a 4-hour trek across my city could not. Not only that, but there are many sites and blogs that help you filter out what you do and do not want, replete with tips and hints on how to make it (whatever that may be) work.

So in honour of online shopping. I recently came across my new favorite website Poppytalk Handmade from Jan of Poppytalk, in which she showcases some of her favorite items through indy online sellers. It is already become one of my obsessions, and the prices are reasonable too!

If only this wasn’t sold out. :(

Excited to go to work

Thank you as always, The Sartorialist.
Now, I can just aspire. I imagine waking up to my two cats purring, while the coffee maker was set on automatic and has ground me some fresh fair-trade beans, making myself some cereal and casually strolling into the closet uncertain of what to wear to work today. And then, this appears. And then, Vogue Italia with a translator appears on my kitchen table and the sun beams through the windows, and I am ready.

Strip(es)

Did I already mention I love stripes?

Getting Intimate in the Winter

— admin @ 12:48 pm

Victoria’s Secret is having their semi-annual major blow out sale on so many amazing pieces. In the summer, skin is so explicit with short shorts and tube tops but when we’re all huddled under scarves and mitts in the winter, it’s up to the layers on the inside to make sex.

Here are some pieces I want(need) and I imagine any girl would need:

28.99$ for the top and 14.99$ for the undies!
